Return/Cancellation Policy and Warranty Information

Standard Return Policy

* All returns must include a completed Return Manufacturer Authorization (RMA) from ThunderStruck Motors. Please email your return request before shipping so an RMA can be issued.

* Unused merchandise must be returned for refund within 30 days. You will be responsible for return shipping and a 25% restocking fee for unused parts.

* Returned electrical Components will undergo testing to ensure they are still in new, working condition, which will determine if there are additional fees.

* All sales are final on batteries, closeout items, special orders, used items and discontinued items.

* Fees for Labor are non-refundable. 

*All cancellations must be approved by Thunderstruck Motors. Order Cancellations will be subject to a 2.9% cancellation fee.

* For International customers, if your parts do not clear customs, the customer is responsible for any return shipping fees as well as original payment fees. Please check with your country's import laws before ordering.

The following conditions are not acceptable for return, and will not be eligible for a refund:

* Any item exhibiting physical damage, wear or alteration.

* Any component or kit that is returned without original packaging and all parts.

* Any component with an expired warranty or without warranty. 

Thunderstruck Motors Limited One-Year Warranty

Thunderstruck Motors warrants that its products will be free from defects in material and workmanship for 12 months from the date of delivery to the first non-commercial retail customer. This warranty is subject to the terms, conditions, and exclusions listed below.

During the warranty period, Thunderstruck Motors will, at its discretion, repair, replace, or refund the purchase price of any part that is found to be defective in material or workmanship under normal use and service. This includes replacing faulty components at no charge, as well as providing telephone, email, or fax support.

Warranty Service Process

To initiate warranty service, please contact Thunderstruck Motors. All warranty claims require prior authorization, and a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) form must be completed before returning any items. The customer must notify Thunderstruck Motors of any defects within 30 days of their appearance, but in any case, no later than 12 months from the date of delivery. Failure to meet this notice requirement may result in the forfeiture of warranty coverage.

Warranty Coverage and Exclusions

This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser. It covers defects in material and workmanship under normal use but does not cover the following:

  • Normal Wear and Tear: This warranty does not cover repairs or replacements due to the natural wear of parts over time or after reaching the end of their useful life due to regular usage.
  • Improper Installation and Maintenance: The warranty will not apply if the product has been improperly installed, maintained, repaired, serviced, or stored, in accordance with the guidelines provided in the Owner’s Manual.
  • Damage from External Factors: This warranty does not cover damage caused by fire, flood, storms, natural disasters, accidents, or collisions, nor does it cover shipping damage.
  • Misuse or Negligence: Damage resulting from misuse, mistreatment, improper storage, or negligence is excluded.
  • Unauthorized Repairs or Modifications: This warranty is void if the product has been altered, modified, or repaired by unauthorized parties. However, warranty coverage will not be voided for repairs or modifications made with prior written authorization from Thunderstruck Motors.
  • Third-Party Products: The warranty does not extend to products or components not manufactured by Thunderstruck Motors. In such cases, the customer will be subject to the warranty provided by the original manufacturer.
  • Use in an Application for Which the Equipment Was Not Designed: This warranty does not apply if the product is used in applications other than those for which it was designed. For example, the warranty does not cover products used in marine applications that were not intended for such use.
  • Reimbursement for Costs: Thunderstruck Motors is not responsible for transportation or shipping charges, towing charges, technician travel time, labor costs performed by unauthorized technicians, or any other costs associated with repairs outside of Thunderstruck Motors-authorized services.
  • Marine Organisms Growth: The warranty does not cover damage caused by the growth of marine organisms or rust on internal or external components.

Additional Conditions

This warranty is void if the equipment has been altered or modified in any way. This warranty is in addition to any rights provided under applicable California law. Purchasers may also have additional legal rights which vary from state to state.

Refunds and Replacements

If a product is found to be irreparably defective under warranty, Thunderstruck Motors may offer either a full refund of the purchase price or a replacement product, at its discretion. Refunds are only applicable if the product is deemed unrepairable or beyond reasonable repair.

California Consumer Rights

This warranty provides specific legal rights to the purchaser, and the purchaser may also have other rights under California law, including implied warranties, which cannot be waived. This warranty does not affect the purchaser's legal rights under California law.

Shipping and Transportation

Thunderstruck Motors will cover the cost of return shipping for warranty repairs or replacements, provided the defect is covered under this warranty. The customer is responsible for shipping costs incurred prior to receiving authorization for warranty service.
