The Thunderstruck Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) converts throttle and brake inputs into CAN bus
messages that can drive an EV motor inverter. It has been designed to work with the Gen1, Gen2 (2013-2016) Nissan Leaf or UQM PowerPhase® HD System Controller, or Coda UQM motors. See Installation and Operation Manual P/N 87510-011, and CANbus Interface Manual P/N 87510-009 from UQM Technologies.
The Optional Accessory kit wiring completes connections between VCU and throttle, precharge circuit, main contactor and power/ground wires (these items are also available individually). It includes the precharge resistor with wires attached and the precharge relay, main contactor and throttle pedal - all wires are labeled and the wires are all connected to the two VCU connectors. It saves considerable time for you at very little more than the price of components. It saves us time on the phone later answering questions about how to wire it up.
