Use the Thunderstruck CAN Translator with a Bluetooth OBDII transmitter (not included) and your own bluetooth enabled smartphone or tablet to show real time information from the system controllers used in many of our kits.
Using the downloadable Torque Pro App with Android devices allows you to create and arrange gauges like: Battery Current, Voltage, GPS Speed and Direction, Motor RPM, etc. Apple iOS devices can run the OBD Fusion App for similar results. See the manual for wiring and configuration details.
Curtis Controllers: You will need to set the baud rate to 500 kbps if you didn't get the system from us. The Translator has not been tested with all Curtis controller models.
See the Translator configured for the Leaf VCU in this Video.
2023 Update: Sevcon G4 controllers from other vendors or purchased from Thunderstruck before 2020, can now interface with the CAN Translator. The manual under the "Manuals and Downloads" tab shows configuration procedures for older Sevcon controllers (serial cable required).
The Serial Cable is needed for users who may want to modify data collected by the Translator, to modify the communication baud rate, or to change SDO configurations (select the serial cable option when ordering).
