CAN Translator for Sevcon/ Curtis/ Leaf

Use the Thunderstruck CAN Translator with a Bluetooth OBDII transmitter (not included) and your own bluetooth enabled smartphone or tablet to show real time information from the system controllers used in many of our kits.

Using the downloadable Torque Pro App you can quickly and easily choose and arrange the best icons like: Battery Current, Voltage, GPS Speed and Direction, Motor RPM, etc. Apple iOS users can use the OBD Fusion app with similar results. Mac OS devices can run the OBD Fusion App for similar results. See the manual for wiring and configuration details.

The serial cable is needed for users who may want to modify data collected by the Translator.

Curtis Controllers: You will need to set the baud rate to 500 kbps if you didn't get the system from us. The Translator has not been tested with all Curtis controller models. The serial cable is required for changing the baud rate in the Translator.

See the Translator configured for the Leaf VCU in this Video.

We’ve been happily using the translator to get info from the gen 4 such as speed, current, odometer, hours, temperatures and the status for different switches – all to present info to a phone display using Torque Pro on our motorcycle prototype.
